Suppliers.
I recently came across a spring loaded insert used to stuff diaper bags instead of using paper or cardboard rolls. The insert is collapsed for shipping. At the store the associates remove the plastic bag from around the diaper bag and then the spring opens the bag. I have spoken to a few suppliers who have used this in their top of the line products and have seen such a cost savings that they are now going to roll it out to their full line. From what I have learned the inserts were cost equal to the paper and roll stuffing methods. Plus they were able to stuff the bags at the factory and therefore did not have to touch them in their US warehouses again. This combined with the space and fuel savings between their warehouses and our stores made this a more viable option paper or cardboard rolls.
Please look into item or at similar items that may exist. I think the cost savings and the potential environmental benefits make this worth look into.
You can review the E-Z Spring insert on their website www.barclaybrowcorp.com. Please note that I am not saying you have to use this company or this technology. If you have a similar method to use currently using or if you are using a similar product that achieves the same results please do not feel obligated to use this particular item.
I would like to hear about any similar products or ideas you have to help drive sustainability.
Thank You.
